Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th in 1980) is an American actress, singer and dancer. Her initial appearances on Broadway include in the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside well-known directors and actors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. In the form of an Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney DTC's platform. Ashford is set to return in 2023, and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. The group behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the leading the production. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the national crisis that swept up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceedings in over a century. The two-season run she had on the CBS show B Positive was her first major role. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
